Samsung makes elegant, high quality products and the new Samsung Galaxy S8 looks to be no exception. The TV spot is equally elegant. The ad is creative and visually stunning. Almost perfect, in fact. Except for one glaring exception, the wording. How would you finish the sentence below?
Introducing the Galaxy S8 with an infinity screen that gives you less to hold and infinitely more to _____________.
The correct answer, of course, is “BEHOLD”, with the enunciation drawn out slightly as ‘beee-hold’.
Instead, the narrator says, “…see.”.
The phone and the TV spot are poetic, but when the time comes to actually be poetic, we get “…less to hold and infinitely more to see.” Just see. It’s the equivalent of “Fine.”
“How was your day?”. Fine. Not “Great!” or “Awesome!” or “Fantastic!”, just fine.
Too bad, this one got away.
